In April we took a visit to Harinezumi Hedgehog Cafe in Chiang Mai. This is walking distance from the Night Bazaar/ Pantip Plaza as you can see in the map below.
You have to buy a package which depends on how many people in your party. Our package cost 399 baht as there were 3 of us. This included coffee for each of us and a piece of cake. We sat at a table which had a little aquarium built into it. The staff lady got 3 hedgehogs out for us and put in there. They provided gardening gloves. We didn’t use them as the little hedgehogs were not very spiky. They also provided meal worms to feed them.
They also have a big herd of guinea pigs which were cute to watch. The staff got me to help her with feeding them.
There are plenty of souvenirs to buy with a lot of hedgehog merchandise. One in our party bought a cute little money purse. Later we went into a Daiso in the Central Festival shopping centre and found some cute hedgehog souvenirs there.
It was a nice place to visit and a good alternative to cat cafes. It’s nice to be able to watch these cute little creatures and to play and interact with them.
As Australia does not have hedgehogs it is definitely a novelty for us. We recommend a visit to this Hedgehog Cafe in Chiang Mai if you have the time and budget for it.
